MAXIM VELČOVSKÝ
Maxim Velčovský (1976) is a leading Czech designer renowned for his conceptual approach, storytelling and experimentation. In 2002, he founded the Qubus studio with
Jakub Berdych Karpelis. The studio has played a significant role in popularising design in the Czech environment. He is the driving force behind the "new wave" of Czech design. He is currently the art director at Lasvit, a Czech designer and manufacturer of bespoke glass products, lighting installations and architectural glass. He is represented by a selection of iconic products from Qubus's very first collection, such as the Waterproof Vase and the porcelain Cola Cup, Fast Cup, and Sommelier Glass. His Digi Clock is listed among the world's 100 design icons.
