Bucket Vase
ABOUT THE PRODUCT
design: Jakub Berdych Karpelis, 2010
material: blown glass, plastic
dimensions: 22 x 41 cm
Lightness, subtlety and a certain exaggeration lead to a precise processing of the material and a pure interpretation of the original idea. The time-tested and unchanging shape of the plastic bucket acquires a new dimension and context. This ordinary object is elevated to the level of artifact and design object for collectors thanks to a new perception and the materials with which it was previously combined. The Bucket vase collection is made of clear, yellow or black glass. The buckets are white, red, brown or red to combine with the glass vase. Designer Jakub Berdych was fascinated by the simple shape of the bucket, and because his works often rely on contradictions in objects and a new relationship, the Bucket Vase collection is a process of elevating one ordinary product into a new beautiful object. The inspiration for this collection was also inspired by floristry.
